When did the terms liberal and conservative start gaining connotations of things other than the size of government? Seriously, when did "liberal" turn into loosy-goosy “feminists” with no moral boundaries that want to kill babies and put tie-dye on the national flag? Also, when did "conservative" morph into terrorist-paranoid tee totaling Bible belters from the NRA? When did one party become “the man” and the other the renegade that wants to damn him? When did “black or white” suddenly mean, not only that there are only two sides to argue, but even that one is wrong and the other is right, let alone which ethnicity should be the face of the White House?
